Kairit
Numbered Pencils & Graphite stick on Bristol 2 March 2009 The two main goals on this picture were A) to get a better depth of tone and value, ie blacker blacks, darker darks, etc, and B) use erasers. Many people use erasers to lift out highlights and reflections, but I've never really done that, always opting to simply leave an area unshaded. So I wanted to get a feel for erasing out details. Thats on top of the new use of blending versus simple crosshatching. Let me know what you think! Subject is Kairit-- came across her online a few years ago, she's a photographer, mostly, and I'm a big fan of her self portrait serries' you can find her stuff at [link] this is based off of her "Getting Your Attention"..... I think that she succeeded!! all comments, criticism, fav's, input, lottery numbers etc appreciated! |

Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but its getting there.
I especially like those flowers in her hair
